Nathan’s foray into music composition began in the seventh grade, click-clacking away at his computer to arrange the Beatles and Motown hits he heard as he was growing up, as well as working on his own pieces. His performance focus in college was baritone saxophone, yet before and since he has not found a wind instrument he doesn’t enjoy playing. Nathan majored in music composition at the University of Arizona, and since then has played in and written for a variety of ensemble groups. He currently plays in The Groove City Big Band, Columbus Pride Bands Jazz Band and Wind Ensembles, and Cinq! sax quartet, all based in Columbus, and has arranged numerous pieces for each. He enjoys connecting with people as passionate about music as he is, and enjoys the challenge of creating arrangements from a wide variety of songs.
